The Town Hall is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day (January 1), Memorial Day (Last Monday in May), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (1st Monday in September), Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November), Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (December 24), and Christmas Day (December 25).
When a holiday falls on a weekend, the Town Hall may be closed on the Friday preceding the holiday or the Monday following it. If you need to come to the Town Hall and are unsure about its status, please call ahead.

How do I pay my utility bill? When is it due?
Payment is due by the 20th of each month. Use this link to see several options for paying your utility bill, including paying online, by mail, in person, and by ACH.
I just moved to town. How do I set up new utility service?
Please print out and complete the Application for Residential Utility Service. Bring the completed form and one form of photo ID to the Town Hall.
If you are renting and two people are on the lease, both people will need to sign the application and come to the Town Hall, each with photo ID.
When are the Town Council meetings?
The Town Council typically meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm at Collier’s (215 N. Jefferson St. in Ossian).
When is it legal to set off fireworks in Ossian?
Please review the Fireworks Ordinance for details such as what types of fireworks may be used, on what dates, during what times, and in what locations they may be used.
Who should I contact when the power goes out?
Contact your electric company, likely either AEP/I&M or Heartland REMC. You can find general contact information for them here. You can also find their contact information on any of the bills they’ve sent you.
PLEASE NOTE: Town of Ossian employees have NO INFORMATION about power outages, when they will happen, or when power will be turned back on. We are unable to assist you in getting your power turned on. You will need to contact your electric company directly.

How can I get the word out about a missing pet?
If you have a missing animal, post a picture of it to the Ossian Town Hall Facebook Page. Please make sure your post is shareable.
When is the town-wide garage sale?
The town-wide garage sale takes place in June. As the dates get close, we will post the dates on the digital sign in front of the Town Hall, and we will print them on residents’ utility bills. Please pay close attention to your utility bills for this and other important announcements.
